Weekend Update

This weekend we went to Kansas City. We stayed with my Aunt Jackie and Uncle Ronnie; they hadn't seen Paelyn since mid-August. She took right to them- she loved my Uncle Ronnie and couldn't stop staring and smiling at him. Saturday we went to US Toy Company. I bought a few things for my classroom, including this hat which I thought was funny and stupid for the kids to wear on their birthdays.

It was a quick trip for us- we came home Saturday night so Paelyn and I could go to church this morning. DJ had a softball tournament (big surprise, I know!) in St. Roberts. After church, I went over to Tori and Brandt's house so they could watch Paelyn while I graded papers. Friday was the end of the quarter and all grades are due tomorrow at 8am...and I had a huge tub of papers to grade! I always put things off until the last minute-whoops! She had fun watching football on the big TV with Brandt and even took a nap on the couch with him. She just loves Brandt- constantly reaches for him and smiles when he walks in the room. The boys (Caelum, Daegan, and Jaesik) love Paelyn too and eventually end up arguing over who gets to hold her. (Do you notice the "AE" in all of their names- including Paelyn's? That's cause Tori named her!!)Tori got the boys' Johnny Jump-Up out of the attic- Paelyn had so much fun jumping around in it!

I've had a rough time getting Paelyn to eat baby food. She doesn't have a problem eating our food (sucking/licking on it I should say!) She FINALLY showed interest last night at dinner. I think I've figured out that she wants to eat when we are eating- she doesn't really care if it's her food our ours. I started out feeding her mashed potatoes off of my plate then thought I'd try her bananas and she actually ate them- I couldn't feed her fast enough! Today at Tori's I fed her sweet potatoes for lunch and she ate the entire container (minus a few bites) I wanted to jump up and down I was so excited!

Next weekend our church is having a hay ride/bonfire (awww...Paelyn's first hayride), we're going to a chili-cook off, and having family pictures taken w/ my mom and brothers. (Speaking of which-I think we all need new outfits).

Don't know if I've mentioned this or not but my sister is pregnant. She is scheduled for a c-section on December 16th. She has a 3 year old (AKA: my niece, Kylee) and is having a little boy- Carson (or Karsen as I recommended...Kylee and Karson...how cute). I am so excited to have a nephew. I'm even more excited for my Dad- he's wanted a boy since my mom found out she was pregnant with me. But, time after time he gets stuck w/ more and more girls. 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters...and 26 years later FINALLY a boy! Although, he's not born yet so I guess something could "disappear" before then!

Well, that's the end to my weekend update! Have a great week!
